To work at Kindred means to be part of a team dedicated to quality care. Here’s a look at life at Kindred as seen through the eyes of its team members. Whatever your talents may be, we want yours!
I have been a nurse for twelve years and like most nurses I have explored the various opportunities that nursing offers. I have worked in home health, ICU, oncology and mental health but had not found the niche I was hoping to find. As luck would have it, my husband and I decided to move to Texas and I came to be employed at Kindred. With Kindred, I have been able to explore my greatest career goal, wound care. With Kindred’s support, I have been able to attend Emory University for certifications in wound, ostomy and continence. Through these three years, I have had the honor of attending various conferences with the understanding that the knowledge I gain is to benefit all staff. I was given the opportunity to become one of the first certified foot and nail care nurses in Texas. I can honestly say that what education opportunity I set as a goal, my CEO and CCO were willing to help and guide me so I could achieve it. We have grown an entire outpatient wound care center that will service clients' needs for therapeutic nail trimming, wound care and therapy. After three years, I find myself unable to go any place else. We are small in size but big in heart. Along with various committees in house, we have a spirit team that is very active in the community. You can be as involved as you will allow yourself. We support the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and local charities, such as the Tarrant County food bank. We have coed softball and volleyball teams. We have high school to college students that come to our facility to learn about health care and its many facets.
